| TRIVIA |
• This movie is about a washed up child star, trying to revive his career. It features Emmanuel Lewis, Maureen McCormick, Danny Bonaduce, Dustin Diamond, Barry Williams, Corey Feldman, Butch Patrick, 'Erin Moran', Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland, Adam Rich, Jeremy Miller, Leif Garrett, Ernest Thomas, Tony Dow, Haywood Nelson, Corey Haim, Barry Livingston, Todd Bridges, Fred Berry, 'Gary Coleman', and Alyssa Milano, all former child actors. Two on-screen mothers of child actors are also featured: Marion Ross and Florence Henderson.
• Wham-O, Inc. sued Paramount Pictures for featuring Wham-O's Slip 'N Slide toy without the company's permission.
• Sally's "Brick wall, waterfall" routine was something Jenna Boyd was doing on the set between takes. The filmmakers liked it and worked it into the script -- twice.
• The crew built an actual treehouse in the back yard of the house used for the exterior scenes of the Finney's home. The real homeowners liked it so much, they requested that the producers to leave it up after filming.
• The man on walking past the Finney residence to whom George says, "Hi, Andy," is David Spade's brother Andy Spade, who was visiting the set that day.
• Fred Wolf and David Spade originally wrote a skit in the '90s for "Saturday Night Live" (1975) about a child star rampage, spoofing _Silence of the Lambs (1989)_, for when Macaulay Culkin was hosting, but it was cut. The idea was later pitched for The WB, but they turned it down. It was eventually totally rewritten and turned into this movie, originally written as a dark comedy with more references to drug use by child stars.
