L.A. County Not on Alyssa Milano Protection Duty

Posted by Natalie on January 23rd, 2009,under Site

Alyssa Milano figures one county’s protection is as good as another’s.

After an injunction was put in place in a neighboring county against a man she had accused of stalking her for two years, the former Charmed star has dropped her request for a temporary restraining order in Los Angeles, E! News confirmed Tuesday.

Milano initially went to court in L.A. on Dec. 5—several weeks after Jeff Turner, the allegedly “mentally unstable fan,” got onto her property (where he was confronted by Milano’s now-fiance, David Bugliari).

A hearing on the motion had been scheduled for tomorrow, but the case has since been dismissed. “Her attorney called and asked for it to be taken off,” said a Los Angeles Superior Court rep.

Turns out an injunction stipulating that Turner stay away from Milano and her family for three years was issued Dec. 23 in L.A.-adjacent Ventura County, where Milano’s primary residence is, and the terms of the order are applicable all over California.

“The Ventura County Court issued the injunction before the L.A. County Court did, so [Milano's camp] decided to pursue the injunction in Ventura County,” a legal source close to the case tells E! News.

Turner did not show up for a hearing on the matter last month.

Milano’s attorney, Evan Spiegel, declined to comment.
