Woohoo! Alyssa Milano and her son Milo, born August 31, are breastfeeding champs! The super cool actress was super quick to respond to questions from our readers and staff, and we’re thrilled to share them with you. (As usual, we’ve footnoted our trusted tips and resources in this exclusive celebrity interview so YOU can Beat the Booby Traps and have a successful nursing experience!)

How is breastfeeding going now? What do you like most about it? What was the biggest surprise? Breastfeeding is going great. I didn’t really know what to expect[i] (BfB tip: read our Expecting Moms section). I was lucky to have a baby who from the moment he came into the world, was a pro at latching on. Between Milo and a wonderful lactation consultant[ii] from the hospital I was in such good hands. I think the thing I like best about breastfeeding is the closeness I feel to Milo and knowing that he’s getting the best of me. The biggest surprise was how something that is so natural can be so awkward in the beginning.

Who’s the boss?

For Alyssa Milano, it’s her 5-week-old son, Milo Thomas Bugliari. In the new Us Weekly — on stands now — the 38-year-old first-time mom opens up about her and hubby David Bugliari’s bundle of joy.

“Everything is going so well,” she gushes. “David told me, ‘It’s like you were dropped off from Planet Mom!’ I said, ‘No, he’s such a great baby, he’s just making me look good!’”

The actress, who next stars in New Year’s Eve (in theaters Dec. 9) tells Us she loves watching Bugliari and Milo interact. “There is nothing like seeing the man you love with your child,” she says. “The other day David was carrying him in a BabyBjorn while making work phone calls! It was so sweet and beautiful.”

There’s a new boss in Alyssa Milano’s house: her baby boy!

The actress, 38, and husband David Bugliari welcomed a son named Milo Thomas Bugliari on Wednesday at 9:27 a.m. He weighed 7 lbs., and was 19 inches long.

In March, Milano announced on Twitter that she was expecting a boy.

The actress told PEOPLE she was having a lovely pregnancy and knew her husband would be “the most amazing father ever.”
And before she even met her son, he was already making her laugh. Milano told PEOPLE in May, “Every time I get an ultrasound, he’s doing really funny things like sucking his thumb or elbowing me.”

Milano and Hollywood agent Bugliari wed in 2009, and this is the first child for both.

And for that, they owe some thanks to 38-year-old TV star Alyssa Milano, best known for her roles in Who’s the Boss and Charmed. Milano, a fanatical baseball lover, holds a season ticket to the Los Angeles Dodgers games and counts herself a devoted follower of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings.

She helped sports leagues see the error of their ways four years ago, when she launched the Touch line of team-sports apparel, which includes jackets, tops and jeans specifically tailored to women.
