While it’s true Gossip Cop covered Tiger Woods‘ televised statement – so that everyone could read and hear him address his infidelities, what happened that Thanksgiving night, and his future golf plans – it did strike us as odd that on ABC, for example, respected journalists Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos offered a recap and an analysis of Woods’ comments.

And while we completely understand why the 24-hour cable networks would cover Woods’ remarks, having network programming interrupted for the golfer’s apology – and a dissection of what he said – seems a little over the top.

We weren’t the only ones who felt Woods’ personal failings did not deserve the type of analysis one would give to a State of the Union address. Alyssa Milano has chimed in as well. The actress tweeted, “Can some1 explain to me how a man-slut gets the same network coverage as our President or a telethon for #Haiti. Anyone?”

Original paranormal expert Dan Aykroyd filled in the public on the future of Ray, Venkman, Egon and the rest of the team in Ghostbusters 3, and added a little she-buster wishful casting, and plot details.

LA Times’ The Hero Complex interviewed Dan Aykroyd who first explained that he harbored no ill will towards Bill Murray for not immediately signing on for the third film, and that it was indeed Murray’s involvement that became the “pivot point in making a third film happen.”

Aykroyd revealed that the new busters would be a a five-member “new generation” team with more than one female member:

“I’d like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let’s revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family, but let’s pass it on to a new generation.”

As for what women Aykroyd thinks should fill out those jumpsuits? That part was easy to answer: Alyssa Milano and Eliza Dushku. Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded up those two great looking, butt-kicking gals all day on set? Plus Milano did the voices for the Ghostbusters video game.

Of course this is only speculation, and both actresses twittered that they hadn’t heard anything:

CW and CBS are in talks to remake the seminal 90s melodramatic, pseudo-soap Melrose Place after successfully launching a Beverly Hills 90210 spin-off for CW earlier this year.

CW and CBS network reps confirm to the Associated Press that they’re in talks to remake the show, which originally aired from 1992 to 1999 on Fox. The show would debut in the 2009-10 TV season, spokesman Paul Hewitt said Tuesday.

No word yet on the possible involvement of any original cast members which include the likes of Heather Locklear, Alyssa Milano, Marcia Cross, and Kristin Davis.
