“My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” News

Posted by Natalie on June 18th, 2009, under Projects

It looks like Dan Aykroyd better work fast if he wants to get Alyssa Milano in the upcoming Ghostbusters sequel – she’s starting to line up the feature gigs. Following her horror stint in “Pathology,” The Hollywood Reporter posts that Milano is grabbing a rom-com. She’ll star and produce My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend, which might sound like a sexuality-bending role for the actress, but really it’s just typical.

She’ll play a woman who meets two perfect men and must decide between them. One (played by Christopher Gorham) is a struggling novelist, while the other (Michael Landes) is an ad exec. Where the girlfriend fits in is anyone’s guess. However, the pic does have Beau Bridges and Carol Kane in additional roles, so there’s that going for it.

‘Ghost Busters 3′ Movie Confirmed

Posted by Natalie on May 20th, 2009, under Projects

As was first mentioned last year, Columbia Pictures hired the exec producers from The Office to write a Ghostbusters reunion movie. Ghostbusters III. And rumors were the original cast might be making a return to the flick. Well, it’s happening!

In a new interview, Dan Aykroyd confirms that he Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Harold Ramis, and even Sigourney Weaver are on board for the third movie.

According to Aykroyd, production might even begin as early as this winter.

As for the film’s plot, it’ll deal with the aging, original Ghostbusters getting ready to retire and pass on the responsibilities of protecting NYC over to a new crew, with maybe a female or two this time helping to capture the ghosts.

No word yet if Alyssa will be apart of the film. *Fingers Crossed*

“Threesome” Not Picked Up

Posted by Natalie on May 18th, 2009, under Projects

Alyssa posted this unfortunate news on her official twitter page, regarding Threesome:

‘It’s w/ sadness that I share that the pilot was not picked up for fall. Boo! But we may still have a shot at a midseason pickup. Yay! xoxox’

Fingers crossed for a midseason pickup. I am getting tired of ABC not picking up Alyssa’s pilots.

Ghost Busters 3 Movie

Posted by Natalie on May 3rd, 2009, under Projects

The script for the third “Ghostbusters” movie is currently being written by “The Office” scribes Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. Regarding the movie, Dan Aykroyd revealed:

“There will be a whole new generation that has to be trained. And that whole new generation will be led by an individual that you’ll all love when you hear who it is, but I’m not going to tell you now. There will be lots of cadets, boys and girls, who’ll be learning how to use the cyclotron, the accelerators, and the new stuff. The nuon splitter, the inter-planary interceptor, all these great tools they’re going to have to flip from dimension to dimension.”

The video game is scheduled to appear in stores on June 16th, 2009 and will be available for PC, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. The big question is, if the third movie is made, will Alyssa be asked to partake in the movie version franchise?

“Inside the Box” News

Posted by Natalie on April 18th, 2009, under Projects

Alyssa Milano has signed on to star in a comedy pilot for ABC only a few months after her last project for the network got scuttled. The “Charmed” star will play a single mom in a pilot from writer Ricky Blitt. The network has also cast “Lipstick Jungle” star Kim Raver in Shonda Rhimes’ drama “Inside the Box” – which could be further bad news for the not-quite-cancelled NBC series, as now two of its leads have taken pilot roles.

Milano, previously shot a pilot comedy show called “Single with Parents” that ABC picked up for midseason but then decided not to air, citing creative issues. In the new pilot (Inside the Box), she’ll play the new girlfriend of a guy (Eric Christian Olsen) who’s torn between her and his needy best friend.

Raver, whose credits also include “24″ and “The Nine,” will play a reporter in “Inside the Box,” which is set at a network news operation in Washington. Like Price’s role in another ABC project, “Eastwick,” Raver’s part here would defer to “Lipstick Jungle” should the show return. When two of a show’s three leads seek other work, though, that’s not a good sign.
