While it’s true Gossip Cop covered Tiger Woods‘ televised statement – so that everyone could read and hear him address his infidelities, what happened that Thanksgiving night, and his future golf plans – it did strike us as odd that on ABC, for example, respected journalists Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos offered a recap and an analysis of Woods’ comments.

And while we completely understand why the 24-hour cable networks would cover Woods’ remarks, having network programming interrupted for the golfer’s apology – and a dissection of what he said – seems a little over the top.

We weren’t the only ones who felt Woods’ personal failings did not deserve the type of analysis one would give to a State of the Union address. Alyssa Milano has chimed in as well. The actress tweeted, “Can some1 explain to me how a man-slut gets the same network coverage as our President or a telethon for #Haiti. Anyone?�
