Popular 1990s soap opera Melrose Place is set to make a return to the small screen.
TV bosses at The CW, which brought back a Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off last year, have ordered the production of a pilot episode. The show, which ran from 1992 to 1999, launched the careers of Marcia Cross and Kristin Davis and was notorious for its sensationalist storylines and extravagant characters.
Filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, who won an Oscar for his 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth, has been recruited to direct the update.
